This is a beautifully restored F.H.Ayres rare small rocking horse dating from about 1920. This rocking horse is rare as it has a 'pommel saddle' which very few have. The pommels are removeable should you wish to do so.
I found 'Dapple' at the local recycling depot in a dreadful state & as I already had an Ayres rocking horse that had been bought by my Grandfather in the 1930's I knew immediately that I had to give her a bit of love & attention.
Dapple was also a perfect size for my young granddaughter to use as my other horse is far bigger.
So, I bought her home & started researching restorers, I found a lovely chap in Torquay who does restorations as a hobby rather than as a business. We talked things through, he made phone calls to his suppliers & 4 months later ( & several hundred pounds later!!) I collected Dapple from this wonderful man.
My granddaughter has had many hours joy of riding Dapple, but sadly I no longer have the space for 2 horses & obviously my inherited one takes presidence over Dapple.
So Dapple is being advertised here for sale, the saddle was replaced, but I still have the original one & one of the back legs was also replaced & I still have that too.
