Georgian Period Bow Rocking Horse For Sale

EXTRA CARVED MEDIUM SIZE GEORGIAN BOW ROCKING HORSE – CIRCA 1830

This rocking horse has been in our family since 1966 and it is has been loved by 2 generations of children in that time.  This is a very sad sale but necessary as we do not now have the space for it and would love for it to be cherished and used by further generations.

It was professionally restored in 2005 and the outdoor photographs were taken at that time. The indoor photographs were taken very recently and it remains in a similar condition to when it was restored.

During restoration quite a lot of its history came to light as it was stripped back (as shown in the photographs).  Traces of Georgian ochre gesso base were discovered under some late Victorian restoration works. The bow itself was returned to its original green colour, having been blue from the Victorian period.
